Clemson-Sparkleberry Intersection

With the continuing growth of the Columbia’s northeast region, the intersection of Clemson Road and Sparkleberry Lane has become a central junction for vehicular traffic. To alleviate congestion, increase capacity, and and improve the overall level of service, Cox and Dinkins served as the prime consultant for this critical intersection improvement project.

The redesign of this intersection consists of: route-realignments and re-configurations; raised medians and roadway widening; traffic signal modifications; new pavement markings; and additional traffic signage. In addition, increased safety for both pedestrian and bicycle access is achieved by an eight-foot wide shared use path.
