Gene Dinkins, Jr., PLS

Vice President

Gene Dinkins, Jr., is a Vice President of Cox and Dinkins and the lead professional in the surveying division. He is responsible for operational management, resource allocation, and quality control of survey operations within the firm. He is also the central liaison between the surveying and engineering departments, working to ensure that clients’ expectations are met with quality service in a time-efficient manner.

Gene is an active community volunteer, donating his time and expertise to numerous boards and commissions. He is currently Chairman of the the City of Columbia Board of Zoning Appeals. Previously, Gene served as Vice Chairman and member of the City of Columbia Board of Zoning Appeals, Vice Chairman and member of the City of Columbia Planning Commission and member of the City of Columbia’s Code Enforcement Task Force Board. He is a founding member and former Vice Chairman of the Congaree Riverkeeper and is Heathwood Hall’s assistant B-squad football coach.

Gene has more than 30 years of experience in surveying, field operations, and computation and mapping. He is a Professional Land Surveyor in South Carolina, a LEED Accredited Professional, and a Certified Erosion Protection and Sediment Control Inspector. Mr. Dinkins graduated from Clemson University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering.
