David Ballard and Nolan Martin have both earned the designation Land Surveyor In Training (LSIT). To achieve this designation, both men had to pass the Fundamentals in Surveying Test (FS), which is the first of two required exams for candidates aspiring to the Professional Land Surveyor (P.L.S.) designation. The second exam, the Principles and Practice of Surveying, will be taken by David and Nolan in October of this year. There is a 4-year required apprenticeship period under a licensed surveyor, that must involve increasing levels of responsibility.
