Gene Dinkins Jr. has extensive experience in all areas of Land Surveying, including but not limited to: closing surveys, boundary and topographic surveys, wetland surveys, ALTA/ACSM surveys, construction staking and flood related matters. Gene is also in charge of scheduling all day to day survey operations for COX AND DINKINS, INC. Gene’s engineering degree from Clemson University, coupled with his in-house on the job training, make him very knowledgeable in matters related to engineering design. Born and raised in Columbia, S.C., Gene is very active in community related activities. Currently Gene volunteers some of his time to the City of Columbia as he was recently appointed to a three year term to serve on the City Planning Commission. Previously Gene was also appointed and served on the City of Columbia’s Code Enforcement Task Force. Gene is an avid outdoorsman and is also very involved in conservation related matters. Gene is a founding member and currently serves as Vice-Chairman of the Congaree Riverkeeper Organization, a local non-profit organization charged with the protection of the Broad, Saluda and Congaree Rivers through diligent enforcement of applicable environmental laws. Gene is also a member of the Gills Creek Watershed Association.
